a) Pre listening: The teacher should briefly introduce the topic of the passage. The students will find out or answer orally of the clue given by the teacher. Such as: A picture is shown and asked some short questions to the students. Then the teacher should clearly explain what tha students have to do while they are listening. The teacher should clear it with simple English and with example. Teacher reads the first or two sentences of the passage, translate or get a student to translate the instractions into Bangla if necessary. This is the last resort. If the teacher always translates instructions into Bangla, the student will expect it and will not try to understand them in English.

b) During listening: Read through the passage once aloud. Students listen and try to complete the task. Repeat it for a second time for the students to check their answers and to listen for any information they have missed to pick out first time. If the passage is difficult for the students to understand, the teaches should read the passage a third time.

c) After listening: Check the answers to the task. Finally, the teacher should check the task completed correctly by the students. The students sometimes should compare  and check their answers in pair first. The teacher should write the answers on the board taking them from the students.
